Van Mahotsav/Haryali Saptah Celebration 2023

FRI EIACP (Environmental Information, Awareness, Capacity Building and Livelihood Programme) Resource Partner on Forestry and Forest Related Livelihoods serves as a one stop platform for dissemination of environmental information, informed policy formulation on various facets of the environment, and facilitation of alternate livelihoods through green skilling. Just like every year, FRI EIACP Resource Partner on “Forestry and Forest related Livelihood” celebrated the Van Mahotsav /Haryali Saptah with the school students of Ambavati Doon Valley Inter College, Panditwari, Dehradun.

As part of the Van Mahotsav, EIACP FRI has successfully celebrated the Van Mahotsav Saptah on July 4, 2023. The event started with an awareness workshop session on the “Significance of Van Mahotsav and Ecosystem Services of Trees.”

An interactive session was also done with the students where they shared their experiences and also asked several relevant questions, such as What kind of benefits can we get from trees without cutting them?. These types of questions and curiosity from the students made the awareness session successful. Lastly, a plantation drive was done with the help of school students and teachers; they planted several fruiting and medicinal plants, etc.
