ICFRE-Forest Research Institute, Dehradun Celebration of Van Mahotsav- 2026.

The Extension Division in collaboration with the Silviculture and Forest Management Division of the ICFRE-Forest Research Institute (FRI), Dehradun, celebrated Van Mahotsav on 24 July 2026 by organizing a tree plantation programme in the institute campus.

The programme commenced with the plantation of a Molsri (Mimusopselengi) sapling by Ms. RichaMisra, Director, ICFRE-FRI, symbolizing the institute’s continued commitment towards environmental conservation, biodiversity enhancement, and sustainable management of natural resources.

Following the Director’s plantation, all Heads of Divisions, scientists, officers, and staff members of the institute actively participated in the plantation drive by planting saplings of Aonla  (Emblicaofficinalis) in the FRI campus. The event reflected the collective resolve of the FRI fraternity to promote a greener environment and strengthen public awareness on the importance of tree plantation and ecological conservation.

The Van Mahotsav celebration reaffirmed FRI’s dedication to preserving the nation’s green heritage and encouraged all participants to contribute towards building a sustainable and environmentally resilient future.
