Inauguration of a Five-Day Short-Term Training Programme on “Plywood Manufacturing”.

The Composite Wood Discipline of the Forest Products Division at the Forest Research Institute (ICFRE–FRI), Dehradun, inaugurated a five-day short-term training programme on “Plywood Manufacturing” on 21 September 2026. The programme is being conducted from 21 to 25 September 2026.

The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Sudhir Kumar, Director, Forest Research Institute. On the occasion, he highlighted the importance of innovation, technological upgradation, and sustainable development in the plywood and wood-based industries. He also emphasized the need to adopt the latest technologies and scientific knowledge, along with promoting knowledge exchange and capacity building.

A total of 25 participants from various plywood and wood-based industries across the country are participating in the training programme. The programme aims to strengthen the participants’ theoretical knowledge and practical skills related to plywood manufacturing and processing.

During the training, experts will provide information on plywood manufacturing, processing techniques, raw materials, and quality control through technical lectures, practical demonstrations, and technical sessions. The participants will also be given an opportunity to visit and familiarize themselves with the relevant laboratories and technical facilities of the institute.
