World Earth Day celebration 2023
FRI EIACP (Environmental Information, Awareness, Capacity Building and Livelihood Programme) Resource Partner on Forestry and Forest Related Services serves as a one stop platform for dissemination of environmental information, informed policy formulation on various facets of environment and facilitation of alternate livelihoods through green skilling. Just like every year, FRI EIACP Resource Partner on “Forestry and Forest related Livelihood” celebrated the Earth Day with theme “Invest in our Planet”.
As part of the Earth Day celebration, EIACP and Forest Ecology and Climate Change Division, FRI has succesfully celebrated the Earth Day in online mode on 22 April 2023. The event started with the talk given by Richa Mishra IFS, Head Extension Division, FRI on the “Significance of the Earth Day and way forward”. An online Lecture on “Revival of Himalayan Springs for Water Security” was delivered by Dr Soban Singh Rawat, Scientist F, National Institute of Hydrology, Roorkee, Uttarakhand.
The lecture and talk was appreciated by the participants. Also a series of questions were asked about the revival of springs. A new concept, “Spring Praharis” was introduced by Dr Soban Singh Rawat. Mr Vipul Bisht, IT/GIS Officer gave the vote of thanks. At last the event was concluded by Richa Mishra IFS, Head Extension Division, FRI.
