The Student Club of Forest Research Institute Deemed to be University (FRIDU), Dehradun, organised its Annual Cultural Programme “Van Tarang”, on May 9, 2026. Smt. Kanchan Devi, Chancellor, FRI Deemed to be University and Director General, ICFRE was the Chief Guest of the programme. Smt. Richa Misra, Vice-Chancellor, FRI Deemed to be University, and Director, ICFRE-FRI was the Guest of Honour. Welcome address was delivered was Dr. Dinesh Kumar, Dean(Academics) of the University.
Students delivered scintillating performances featuring a vibrant array of folk dances, including Kuchipudi, Garba, Naati, Garhwali, Ghoomar, Lavani, and Kathak, along with a captivating blend of folk, semi-classical, and Bollywood songs. A ramp walk showcasing traditional costumes representing diverse cultures from different parts of India emerged as a special attraction of the programme.
Smt. Kanchan Devi, Chancellor and Smt. Richa Misra, Vice Chancellor appreciated the students for their energetic and enthralling performances that beautifully and rhythmically reflected the rich cultural diversity of India.
