
Forest Research Institute enthusiastically celebrated National Technology Day on 9th May, 2025. Originally, the day is celebrated on 11th May, 2025, but it was celebrated on Friday due to Saturday and Sunday on 10th & 11th May, 2025.
An exhibition on technologies developed by FRI was organised in the main corridor of the Institute. This exhibition showcased Scientific and Technical knowledge to the public through posters and other display materials. All heads of divisions, scientists, and officers of FRI participated in the exhibition and displayed their recent scientific and technical achievements that applied to the stakeholders and general public. Dr. Renu Singh, IFS, Director, FRI inaugurated the exhibition at 10.30 AM and interacted with the Scientists and appreciated the research being carried out and technologies developed by various divisions of the Institute. She appealed to scientists and officers to continue their efforts to disseminate their research findings so that society could benefit from the research activities of the Institute. The main attractions of this exhibition were technologies developed on green enhancement and mechenical characterization of round bamboo, propagation of priority Forest genetic resource species of Uttarakhand for conservation, bio-nanotechnology for ecofriendly wood protection, techniques for assessment of water need of forest trees, scientific tools for wood identifications, hydroponics cultivation of medicinal plants, herbal solutions for empowering community for their wellbeing and livelihood, natural fibre from pine needles, fast growing forestry species, medicinal and ornamental plants, advances in seed technology, technologies on Natural Dyes and Colours, assessment of carrying capacity of eco-sensitive zones etc.
All the museums of the Institute will be opened for visitors without any entry fee on the 11th May 2025, the National Technology Day.
