SIGNIFICANT ACHIEVEMENTS
- GIS based maps were generated for 371 species of butterflies depicting their seasonality, distribution and associated forest types in Uttarakhand.
- Four species of family Platygastridae: Cremastobaeus indicus, Duta polita, Trissolcus orontes, T. barrowi have been recorded as new record from Uttar Pradesh.
- Identification keys for 22 moth families found in the Shiwalik range with images was generated.
- 1267 primary and secondary types along with their labels of the orders Coleoptera, Diptera, Hemiptera, Hymenoptera and Lepidoptera in cabinets 136 and 137 of NFIC were digitized.
- l46 pteromalid species samples were identified from Uttarakhand.
- Biology of the aphid Baizongia pistaciae was studied on the alternate host (Wheat).
- Biology study of Clostera cupreata on twelve poplar clones for their resistance screening.
- Bio-efficacy experiment for three essential oil, one Bt formulation and one botanical formulation has been done under laboratory.
- Incidence of Dichocrocis leptalis Hamp. (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae) was observed highest in Timli followed by Thano, Barkot and Kalsi. Intensity of attack was observed in 1st generation 20-25%, in 2nd generation 30-35 %, in 3rd gen 55-60% and in 4th gen 40-45%.
- Gas Chromatography cum –Mass spectrometry (GC-MS) was done on bast samples collected from Healthy and tree-trap, the constitutes identified for kairomonal activities are Alkane hydrocarbons, fatty acids and their esters, monoterpenoid and aromatic compound.
