Forest Research Institute hosted Harit Yoga 2025 in collaboration with ICFRE, IGNFA, CASFoS and DFE

Forest Research Institute (FRI), in collaboration with the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE), Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy (IGNFA), Central Academy for State Forest Service (CASFoS), and the Directorate of Forest Education (DFE), successfully organized Harit Yoga 2025 at the FRI campus in Dehradun. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 500 attendees, including the Hon’ble Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs, Shri Tokhan Sahu Ji (Chief Guest), Director General ICFRE, Director IGNFA, Director FRI, Director DFE, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (APCCF), Regional Office Dehradun, Principal CASFoS, scientists, officers, probationers, officer trainees, and students and teachers from KV-FRI, Dehradun. The programme commenced with a welcome address by Smt. Richa Misra, Director, FRI. This was followed by an inspiring address by the Chief Guest, Shri Tokhan Sahu Ji, who emphasized the importance of integrating yoga into daily life. In his remarks, he stated:”Yoga is not just a form of physical exercise; it is a way of life that nurtures our body, mind, and spirit”. Following his address, the Chief Guest, along with other dignitaries, proceeded for plantation in FRI campus. A live telecast of the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s address on the occasion of International Yoga Day was then viewed by all participants. Subsequently, a Yoga session was conducted, following the Common Yoga Protocol, led by certified Yoga instructors. After the session, all participants, including the Hon’ble Chief Guest and dignitaries, actively took part in a campus-wide cleanliness drive at FRI. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Shri Lokinder Sharma, Scientist, Extension Division, FRI.
