ICFRE FRI EIACP Organized Seminar on Rainwater Harvesting with the students of KV FRI Dehradun.

EIACP Programme Centre at ICFRE-Forest Research Institute, Dehradun organized a seminar on Rainwater Harvesting with the students of KV FRI Dehradun. Lecture was given by Sh. Sumantra Basu, Scientist(FE&CC Division FRI). This Seminar was aimed to educate students about the importance and methods of conserving rainwater. It began with an overview of the global water crisis, highlighting the increasing demand for freshwater. He discussed various techniques of rainwater harvesting, including rooftop collection, surface runoff, and storage methods. The session emphasized the environmental and economic benefits, such as reducing dependency on groundwater and mitigating urban flooding. Practical demonstrations and case studies were presented, illustrating successful implementations in both urban and rural areas. The seminar concluded with a Q&A session and encouraging , encouraging students to adopt sustainable water practices.
