On 21st February 2025, the Extension Division of the ICFRE-Forest Research Institute, Dehradun, organized a hands-on demonstration for the students of Bhawani Balika Inter College at the Cellulose and Paper Technology Discipline under Prakriti programme. The purpose of the demonstration was to provide students with a practical insight into paper-making technology and its various applications.
The event commenced with an introductory session where Dr. Charan Singh, Scientist F provided a detailed overview of ICFRE-Forest Research Institute Dehradun, its history, and its various divisions.
After this Dr. Shuank Malik, Scientist-B, provided a detailed overview of the paper-making process, its history, and its significance in various industries. The students were introduced to the raw materials used in paper production, such as wood pulp and recycled fibers. The students participated in a practical demonstration where they were shown the step-by-step process of making paper. This included the preparation of pulp, its transformation into sheets, and the drying process. The students had the opportunity to get involved in each stage.
In conclusion, the hands-on demonstration was a highly informative and engaging experience for the students of Bhawani Balika Inter College. It provided them with valuable knowledge on paper-making technology and its environmental implications, contributing to their overall understanding of the industry.
