Forest Fire Innovations and Social Media Integration Highlighted on Day 2 of National Outreach Workshop at ICFRE-Forest Research Institute.

The second day of the National Outreach Workshop at ICFRE-Forest Research Institute (FRI), Dehradun, focused on Forest Fire Research and Knowledge Management under AICRP-14. Chaired by Dr. Rajesh Sharma, DDG (Research), ICFRE.The session began with a comprehensive presentation by Smt. Richa Mishra, IFS, Head, Silviculture & Forest Management Division, who emphasized integrated fire management strategies, early warning systems, and ecological thresholds in pine-dominated forests.

Innovations in fire-fighting tools were showcased by Prof. Inderdeep Singh, IIT Roorkee, introducing equipment such as Jhappa (a fire smothering broom), fire rakes, and a fire sickle, all designed for efficient forest fire control.
