EIACP Resource Partner on Forestry & Forest Related Programme, Forest Research Institute (FRI), Dehradun conducted a socio-economic survey in 96 villages located within the Ecologically Sensitive Zone (ESZ) of Rajaji National Park from 04 February to 08 February 2026.

The EIACP Resource Partner on Forestry & Forest Related Programme, Forest Research Institute (FRI), Dehradun conducted a socio-economic survey in 96 villages located within the Ecologically Sensitive Zone (ESZ) of Rajaji National Park from 04 February to 08 February 2026. During this period, field activities were carried out in Ramnagar, Rishikul, Kharkhari, Bhopatwala and Devpura on 04 February; Bhuggawala, Lalwala, Laljiwala, Bandarjod, Haripur and Kuewala on 05 February; Laldhang, Rasoolpur, Rasoolpur Got and Aryanagar on 06 February; Kandakhol, Bukandi, Belwala and Bandara on 07 February; and Rattapani, Karondi, Diyuli, Banstola, Juledi and Khargosha on 08 February 2026. The survey focused on collecting household-level data related to socio-economic conditions, livelihood patterns, forest dependency and environmental challenges of local communities. Simultaneously, Mission LiFE sensitization programmes were conducted to promote sustainable lifestyles and environmental responsibility, along with plantation drives and capacity-building programmes aimed at enhancing community awareness, participation and long-term engagement in forest conservation and sustainable development.
