World Environment Day-2019

As you are aware that India has global host of World Environment Day this year celebration on 5th June, 2019 with the theme “Air Pollution”. The Ministry is taking intensive efforts to reduce air pollution and the use of single use plastic in India. The consumption of plastic in India is on the rise and is one of the biggest environment challenges for our country. Considering secure environment, it is our moral duty to avoid single use plastic, like Polybags, packing’s, bottles, disposable glass, cup, spoon etc.
Extension Division, Forest Research Institute, Dehradun was celebrated World Environment Day on 5th June, 2019. On this occasion, Painting competition, Debate competition, Cleanliness drive in campus and Run for Environment were also organized w.e.f. 25th May to 5th June, 2019. Painting competition on 25th May and Debate competition on 30th May was organized in the Extension Hall of FRI. Shri A.S. Rawat, Director, FRI started Cleanliness drive in New Forest campus on 2nd June, 2019. Today the 5th June 2019 organized Run for Environment was also conducted in FRI. On this occasion, Smt. Kanchan Devi, DDG, (Education) ICFRE started the run by showing flag to the participants. Dr. A.K. Pandey, Head Extension Division brief about the events and emphasis on creation of awareness for clean environment and avoid the plastic and air pollution from the atmosphere. All the events are successfully conducted by the make effort of Dr. Charan Singh, Dr. Devendra Kumar and Sh. Rambir Singh, scientists and other officials Sh. Ajay Gulati, STO and Sh. Vijay Kumar, ACF, Sh. Ramesh Singh and Sh. Yatharth of Extension Division’s FRI.
