National Forest Martyrs Day observed at FRI To commemorate foresters who had laid down their lives to protect forests and wildlife, National Forest Martyrs Day was observed today on 11 September, 2019 at Forester Memorial, Brandis Road, Forest Research Institute, Dehradun campus. Dr S.C. Gairola, Director General, Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education; Sh. Arun Singh Rawat, Director, Forest Research Institute; Sh. Omkar Singh, Director, Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy; Sh. M.C. Ghildiyal, Secretary, Supreme Court Monitoring Committee; Sh. Pankaj Aggarwal, APCCF, Regional Office, Dehradun, Senior Forest officials, Scientists and employees of ICFRE & FRI paid floral tributes on the foresters memorial at FRI to honour and remember all men and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice for forests and wildlife. National Foresters Martyrs Day was also attended by a large number of employees from ICFRE and FRI, IGNFA IFS Probationers, CASFoS trainees. A two-minute silence was observed in memory of the martyr’s ends.
