Forest Research Institute, Dehradun celebrated World Yoga Day on 21st June, 2019 in the Officers Club, Forest Research Institute, Dehradun, under the supervision of Yoga Experts Mr Yogacharya Prem Ji. On this occasion Director General, ICFRE, Director, FRI, all officers, Scientists, staff of ICFRE/FRI, their families and outside members. participated in the above yoga programme. On this occasion around 250 participants were participated in this International Day of Yoga.
Dr. K.P. Singh Publicity & Liaison Officer of the Institute conducted the programme and he told to the participants that International day of yoga is called as the world yoga day. United Nations General Assembly has declared 21st of June as an International Yoga Day on 11th of December in 2014. Yoga in India is considered to be around 5,000 year old.
Dr. S.C. Gairola, Director General, ICFRE told the participants that yoga is very necessary and beneficial for all human being if it is practiced by all on daily basis.
Director, FRI Sh. A. S. Rawat congratulate all for the successful completion of this fifth International Yoga Day event and he also stated that regular yoga practice lead to the better mental, physical and intellectual health. It is positively changes the lifestyle of the people and increases the level of well-being. On this occasion Yoga exercises and its benefits were also displayed in the form of posters for creating the awareness amongst the participants.
