Forest Research Institute, Dehradun is a premier institute in the field of forestry research. Different extension activities are organized from time to time to bring various aspects of forestry research work to the common man. In this context, today on 29th January 2020, the Extension Division, FRI organized a Seminar on “Extension of Forestry Research to Stakeholders” . The main objective of this seminar was to provide a common platform to the farmers, stakeholders and institutions engaged in forestry and agricultural research.
Shri Arun Singh Rawat, Director, FRI inaugurated the Seminar and in his address he said that the extension activities for dissemination of research work have to be organized keeping in view the interest of farmers, NGOs, Self Help Groups and other stakeholders. Further he said that the effective extension activities should be carried out in coordination with all, Departments.

Strategy being adopted by all institutes under ICFRE for extension of forestry research work. Dr. A.K. Pandey, Head, Extension Division, FRI told about the extension activities being carried out in the institute. He said that the extension activities are being carried out through Van Vigyan Kendras of the states of Punjab, Haryana, Uttrakhand, Uttar Pradesh and UT Delhi & Chandigarh. Further he told that the findings of forestry research is also given through KVK & VVK Networking.
Dr. Randhir Singh Poswal, ADG, ICAR, New Delhi also expressed his views and said that FRI and ICAR can work together in this direction. Sharma, Officer-in-Charge, Krishi Vigyan Kendra Dhakrani , Dehradun, Dr. Sunil Sah, Scientist, Centre for Aromatic Plants Industrial Estate, Selaqui-, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, Mr. Ajay Kumar Saini, Jyoti Gramoudhyog Sansthan, Saharanpur, Mr. Inder Singh Negi, RM, Tehri Region, UKFDC, Dehradun also expressed their views.
